The MIDI mapping feature for the SoundID Reference standalone app lets you control the app via an external MIDI device.
Which parameters can be mapped?
The MIDI mapping feature can be used to map parameters and features such as calibration on/off, target mode, preset selection, mono switch as well as gain and dry/wet signal among others.
How to use MIDI mapping feature
To start using the MIDI mapping feature first, you need to assign the parameter you wish to control.
This can be done by simply clicking on the three-dot menu next to the audio output device or a specific Preset of the output device and then clicking on the 'Map MIDI' option if you wish to MIDI map an audio device or a preset
Or by clicking right-clicking with the mouse directly on a specific feature (e.g. Gain Control as shown in the image below) and then left-click on the Map MIDI bubble that will pop up.
Once you have selected the control you wish to MIDI map, a new window will open and the software will listen for an active MIDI signal to assign the feature you wish to control.
Once the app has recognized the specific MIDI signal, it will be available to save in the app. Please click on the Save button to store the mapping so it can be called upon the next time it receives this MIDI input.
Resetting MIDI mapping
You can reset all previously configured mapping by going to SoundID Reference app Preferences
and scrolling down to a section called MIDI. To erase all MIDI mappings, simply click on the "Erase all MIDI mappings" button.
