Profile export availability and requirements
With the SoundID Reference and Wayne Jones AUDIO Studio Monitors integration, you can export calibration profiles and import them straight onto your Wayne Jones AUDIO Studio Monitors *.

Are my existing Jones-Scanlon Studio Monitors compatible with the SoundID Reference integration?
NOTE! Multichannel profile export is not available with the SoundID Reference legacy versions.

IMPORTANT! The export feature is available for both Mac and PC, however, profile upload into the speakers is currently possible only on PC devices (Windows).
Measuring a stereo speaker configuration
Before the speaker measurement process, we recommend taking a look into the following options and making sure they have been addressed:
- With the monitors off, please connect the left & right audio outputs of your interface to the left & right XLR inputs of the monitors
- Position the Input switch to XLR (down position in photo) & position the other room switches to the center position (flat)
- Make sure the output volume level on your audio interface is turned down
- Power on your Wayne Jones Audio monitors & check that you have audio when connected
- Wayne Jones Audio Monitors DSP internal audio output sample rate is 192kHz 24 bit
- You can set your audio interface output to any sample rate up to 192kHz
- Wayne Jones Audio recommends sample rates of 96kHz or 192kHz
To begin, launch the SoundID Reference Measure app. The 5-stage measurement process will take around 20-30 min to complete, depending on the complexity of your setup configuration:
- Hardware setup -selecting the stereo configuration and the audio interface you're working with, using test tones to verify the output channels, adjusting the microphone gain
- Listening spot - the front L and R speakers will be measured to determine the distance and noise floor, and the listening spot will be established. You will be able to review and fine-tune the dimensions of your listening area
- Volume matching - manual and automatic adjustment options will be provided for adjusting individual channel volume for matching levels at the listening spot
- Room response - a series of measurements (37 in total) will now take place to measure the frequency response of your speakers and room
- Results - Once the entire measurement process is complete, the results will be displayed - you can observe the frequency response of your setup in detail for the first time

Exporting a calibration profile
- Launch the SoundID Reference standalone app and navigate to the Output Panel
- Choose one of the target curves - Flat Target, Dolby Atmos Music, Custom Target, Translation Check;
- Select your preset and click on "..." > Export > Wayne Jones AUDIO Studio Monitors
- Confirm the export location and click Next to export
By default, the exported calibration profile (a .bin file) will be saved in the following directory:
- Windows:
AppData\Local\Sonarworks\SoundID Reference\Sonarworks Projects\Exported Presets
- macOS:
/Library/Application Support/Sonarworks/Sonarworks Projects/Exported Presets
Note: For macOS users: since version 5.4.0 (Oct 18, 2022) the "Sonarworks" folder has been moved from ~/Library/Sonarworks to ~/Library/Application Support/Sonarworks
The calibration profile will be exported as two separate .bin files - one for the right monitor, one for the left monitor.
A successful profile export will generate two .bin files which will include:
- Calibration curve: the selected speaker calibration curve data
- Target curve: the selected target mode, with all of your custom settings applied
- Dry/Wet: the level of calibration applied
- Limit Controls: frequency range affected by calibration
Is everything being processed from the exported calibration files?
No, Wayne Jones AUDIO will use its own processing solution for these features:
- Filter type: processing will take place on the Wayne Jones AUDIO Studio Monitors, using their own IIR filter solution
- Safe headroom: the values are exported in the profile, and applied via functionality on the Wayne Jones AUDIO Monitors
- Listening spot - not included

Install the app on your Windows-based computer

Open the app, select Com port
- Click on the 'Folder' option
- Upload the Left speaker calibration file by selecting the export file for the left monitor
- Upload the Right speaker calibration file by selecting the export file for the right monitor
