Speaker volume matching
In this article, we will show you the possible ways how to adjust your speaker volumes in a multichannel setup. In order to have the volume at the correct level, as well as equal among all speakers, we need to adjust each speaker's volume individually. With the new Measure app version that comes with SoundID Reference for Multichannel this can be done either manually or with the help of the software.
Adjusting the volume
All the channels should have a matching volume in the Listening Spot. If there is a mismatch, you can manually correct the volume of each channel via the audio interface or on the rear of active speakers. The Measure app also has a feature that will adjust it automatically, for your convenience.
Click on "Adjust speaker volume", if you wish to do it manually or click on "Skip speaker volume adjustment" to let Reference adjust it virtually afterward. In this stage, all other speakers are volume adjusted, apart from Front Left + Right, as these were set correctly in the previous stage.
LFE level volume matching
Currently, we are supporting only one LFE channel for multichannel setups, for example, a 7.1 setup. To measure the low end, keep the microphone at the center between the front left and right speakers, from the Listening Spot. Also here the volume is adjusted either manually via the interface or on the rear of the subwoofer, as well as it's possible to have it adjusted by the software. You are now ready to go through the rest of the measurement process.
