I am currently a Reference 4 user and am considering upgrading to the new SoundID Reference version. A key feature appeals to me for this: it's the ASIO-to-ASIO virtual driver. I'm not sure what this is about. Is it a standalone ASIO driver that processes the signal and sends it to the sound device's ASIO driver, so I could refrain from using the DAW host and the SoundID VST plugin while achieving comparable very low latency?

Great to hear you are considering SoundID Reference! When selecting the Virtual ASIO to ASIO driver for your output device in the SoundID Reference systemwide app, it can be selected as an output in your DAW where the DAW output will then be routed through the calibration. The app will add some latency, but the app actually might be a more convenient way how to use the calibration at, for example, the mixing stage.
