Nearly 0 latency?

In the "Product Reveal Video" you say there's nearly 0 latency with SoundID Reference. Does that mean it's finally possible (meaning practical) to use the systemwide app instead of needing to use the plugin when recording in a DAW?

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the post, and our apologies for the belated attention to it from our side! 

Regarding the new drivers introduced in SoundID Reference:  

  • WASAPI driver insert (APO) has 7ms latency introduced, however, it cannot be used with a DAW;
  • Virtual ASIO to ASIO driver is 0ms for input, the latency will depend on the output device: near-zero latency results

The app will add some latency when being used as the output in your DAW. It might be more convenient to use the calibration this way at, for example, the mixing stage, where some latency shouldn't be a major issue. For tracking and for a true zero-latency experience, I can recommend trying the DAW plugin instead.
