Custom Target EQ Settings for left/ right individual

Since everybodys hearing abilities decrease over time - and this not necessarily similar to the left and right ear - it would be very useful to set the PEQ adjustment individually for the left and the right channel.

So the Custom Target function would allow SoundID Reference not only to be used for Headphone Corrections but to match to individual hearing abilities as well. Shure, to be accurate with this you need to have an audiogram exactly showing the frequency response of your ears - which can be obtained from hearing aid specialists.

... or to include SoundIDs personalized sound profile (with hearing test functionality)?

Have a nice Weekend everybody!

Hi Nils,

Thanks for your feature request!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set the PEQ adjustment for each channel individually, the only way to compensate individual hearing abilities would be to try adjusting the Custom Target to your liking and individual needs as much as possible.

I can also recommend trying out our SoundID mobile app (SoundID) which does include a hearing test to help you personalize your sound preferences, but the results aren't transferrable to SoundID Reference. We are still improving the app and its features as well and perhaps we'll be able to offer a solution for individual hearing needs in SoundID Reference at some point as well, but at the moment, we can't make any promises for this.

I have taken a note of your feedback and feature requests for further consideration. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Zane, when you say that it is not possible to set the PEQ adjustment for each channel individually, is this because of some limitation in the implementation or simply a statement of fact on the current functionality?  I have exactly the same issue as Nils - hearing deficiencies that differ between ears which is on the order of 3-9 dB difference in some frequency ranges.

Commenting on this over a year later, I would also like this possiblity to adjust L and R custom EQ's separately. I have asymmetrical hearing, and this would also allow for adjustment of slight differences in headphone channel balances (without individual profiled headphones).

I am in the same situation as Mikko. I would pay good money for such a software capability.
