Choosing between calibrated HD600 & HD650

Hi all- for a while I've used Reference with the HD600 preset, as well as to correct my room speakers.

I'm considering selling my existing ones & buying a calibrated pair now (as it's simpler than sending them in). When I originally bought the HD600s, I chose them over the HD650 due to having a more neutral profile. However, with calibrated pairs- is there a reason to choose one over the other (cost aside)?

Hi Tristan,

Thanks for your post!

Normally, our first recommendation is generally Sennheiser HD 650. They're already pretty flat out of the box, they translate exceptionally well from user to user due to their physical design and they are very comfortable for extensive mixing sessions. With the individual headphone calibration, where we work with your specific unit and make corrections just for you, the model will sound great! The purchase decision is still in your hands of course, but if you want to learn more about our thoughts, I can recommend checking out the review we've done on the HD650 model to get some more insight:
