It is not possible to start with a "no calibration profile" setting, there has to be either a speaker or a headphone profile loaded which you then can adjust as necessary using the available target modes and features.

This is exactly what I am looking for as well. I am not a recording engineer, just an audiophile and I have several headphones/earbuds that I love the overall sound of but just want to tweak the EQ in SoundID Reference and to hear all of my music through it. I have used SoundID reference to calibrate my speakers and it worked great and I apply my own custom target to that to compensate for some hearing loss. I want to do something like this for my headphones etc. and to simply start, as Fernando, Matti implied, with a 'flat' headphone profile i.e. a profile for a mythical headphone that does not need any compensation, and then I can use the 'Custom Target' to set up my hearing-related compensation.
I'm surprised this isn't an option already :) Would also be great if we could import EQ presets from a DAW or AutoEQ profiles for headsets that are not yet supported officially by SoundID.
Yes, the ability to import AutoEQ profiles would be much appreciated. If there is any resistance to doing that, I think it may be due to the fact that the AutoEQ 'pre-packaged' profiles represent a Harman curve rather than simply a compensated to 'flat' headphone profile. Of course, you can use AutoEQ to generate a 'flat' profile if you wish but that requires using the supplied python program and understanding how to set it up. Not rocket science, just saying.... One more possible objection is that the AutoEQ generated input data for the headphone response was not generated using the process that SoundID has in place so that there could not be any guarantee of the accuracy of the results. All of this said, I would still love to see support for importing AutoEQ profiles since it's a use case that fits my use very well.
Looking for the same thing. I'm using Ultimate Ears Reference Remastered IEMs which are very flat, which is great for the mixing that I do. But when I want to just listen for fun I want to be able to open Sound IDR and select a self-built profile.
Any update on this? Unbelievable that no flat profile can be set since Sonarworks marketing and company focus was on project studio as a startup back then. Obviously audio engineers do fiddle around with EQ curves. Might be time to switch to another solution...
//For all. It might be able to overcome this issue by pretending to measure the room and make an internal loopback so the resulting Sonarworks "magic" is an emtpy EQ curve. For verification one could then make a phase cancelation with that profile to be sure no other mojo's are happening inside Sonarworks. Again unbelievable that there is not flat profile Jeez....
Generally, a calibration profile for headphones or speakers would have to be added to the software. But I may have an option for you - launch SoundID Reference -> click on Add new output in the left sidebar-> Add new preset -> Add a new headphone profile -> at the bottom of the left sidebar click on “Individual calibration” -> enter this code: AA000A -> finish adding the profile. This will provide a flat profile and you can also use the Custom Target to create custom target curve presets.

I have same kind of plans. So all I would need is a completely flat target profile. Should be easy enough to make one?

Any progress with this? I'm sure that devs/staff have flat target profile readily available. Why not share it with customers?
