[MAC] SoundID Reference standalone app freezes

If you observe the SoundID Reference standalone app freezing and not responding on your Mac device, this guide explains the issue and includes a workaround while we work on the fix.

SoundID Reference freeze

There have been reports of the SoundID Reference standalone app freezing and not responding and the spinning color wheel keeps showing, while the UI stays unresponsive. The UI may show up, but sometimes only shows blank. All reports thus far seem to be regional-based, specifically, all affected users are based in China. With the latest release, this issue has been fixed.

Solution

Update to the latest version: SoundID Reference 5.10.0.54 or later.

I am experiencing this issue as well. Issue is not specific to China as I am based in Japan.

This issue has not yet been resolved in the latest version, thus it may still be encountered when updating to SoundID Reference version 5.9.0.

We recommend reverting to the version 5.6.1 if you encounter the issue: Workaround

In this afternoon, I tried 3 version(including 5.2,5.7,5.9), each version has this type of problems, and it really make me sad...by the way, I am also in China and My operation system is Mac Montery 12.4.. Hope that you guys may fix this issue as fast as you can...

For a piece of expensive software, having this issue go without a fix for almost a year is extremely annoying. In China, higher versions of SoundID do not work at all on macOS Sonoma unless using 5.6.1. Fix this bug quickly!

We recommend using the SoundID Reference 5.6.1 version in the meantime as this version should work with no issues. We'll make sure to update you with the latest information on the resolution when it is available.

v. 5.9.1. Mac Os, Big Sur, China. 
Same freezes, same problems. 
Only the way to make it work is sadly back to 5.6.1 version.

This is horrendous. I wish this would qualify for a refund. I will drop this asap

We wanted to let you know that the SoundID Reference standalone app freeze issue has been fixed in the latest SoundID Reference version 5.10.0. update (released on March 26, 2024). To install the update, download the SoundID Reference installer from our download center, run the installer and proceed with the installation, the latest version will be installed by default.
