Collecting crash reports on macOS

Crash reports can help our team investigate an issue if the SoundID Reference standalone app is crashing on your Mac (or other SoundID Reference-related application crash, such as your DAW).

How to collect crash reports on macOS

For macOS 10.15 and newer, follow these steps:

  1. Find and click on the Spotlight search icon in the menubar. 
  2. Type Console and then press enter.
  3. Click Crash Reports in the left menu, find and select the most recent SoundID Reference crash report (or other application) from the list.
  4. Right-click on the file and choose Reveal in Finder.
  5. Copy the file (Cmd+C) and paste it (Cmd+V) somewhere (on the Desktop for example) and then send this file in the support ticket.

For macOS 10.14 and older

  1. Find and click on the Spotlight search icon in the menubar. 
  2. Type Console and then press enter.
  3. Click System Reports in the left menu, find and select the most recent SoundID Reference crash report (or other application) from the list.
  4. While in Console, open the Action menu from the menubar and click on the Include Debug messages.

  5. Right-click on the file and choose Reveal in Finder.
  6. Copy the file (Cmd+C) and paste it (Cmd+V) somewhere (on the Desktop for example) and then send this file in the support ticket.

Collecting log files on macOS
